The Peru team returned to add another failure in the South American U-20. In this context, many fans criticized the work of the Peruvian Football Federation in the lower leagues. Some fixed in the step he had Gustav Roverano the command of the team and the poor results achieved before the qualifying tournament; However, the Uruguayan coach responded to these comments, believing that he bears no responsibility for the recent exit.
“I haven’t completed the process, you can’t support me for friendlies because you’re preparing for the South American. I wasn’t there at the most important stage of the year,” he told Radio Ovación.

Likewise, the ‘Mask’ noted that one of the problems in the lower categories has to do with the lack of seriousness of clubs in player training, which affects the work of Bicolor strategists.
“In the first microcycles I had to pick footballers without seeing them play because they didn’t play. Back then I was blinded by reports from the FPF, but I couldn’t pick the guys for their performance because they weren’t competing,” he added.
Regarding his resignation from the position, Alfonso Ugarte’s current coach questioned the methodology he works with and regretted the little support he received. “The methodology used was very limiting for the coach and then he had no support,” he concluded.
