Roy Rosselló, a former member of Menudo, says the Menéndez brothers’ father sexually abused him

(CNN Spanish) — Roy Rosselló, a former member of the Menudo group and currently 51, says the Menéndez brothers’ father sexually abused him ahead of a documentary series about Peacock that will air in the US next month.

Rosselló alleges that José Menéndez, who was murdered with his wife in August 1989 by their sons Lyle and Erik Menéndez, sexually abused him as a teenager. The alleged aggression is revealed in the preview of a documentary titled Menéndez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed by the Peacock platform, which premieres May 2. CNN is trying to get a response from Roy Rosselló.

“This is the man who raped me,” says Roselló on the show, pointing to a photo of José Menéndez. “That’s the pedophile,” he says, adding that he was 14 at the time and that José Menéndez, a successful businessman, also drugged him.

Lyle Menendez, 55, and Erik Menendez, 50, have been jailed since July 1996 after a high-profile trial. Both are serving life sentences in the same California prison with no possibility of parole.

In the sensational televised trial, the brothers, then teenagers, claimed they shot their parents, José and Mary Louise Menéndez, who lived in Beverly Hills, California, with guns after years of being sexually abused by their father and that their mother had become blind in one eye. However, prosecutors argued that the two brothers simply wanted to keep their parents’ assets.
