Royal fans claim Prince George looks like his grandfather, Michael Middleton

Royal fans noted that Prince George is the spitting image of his maternal grandfather as he attended Prince Philip’s funeral service yesterday.

The eight-year-old prince yesterday accompanied his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and his six-year-old sister Princess Charlotte at Westminster Abbey to pay their respects to the late Duke of Edinburgh, who died on April 9 last year.

As photos of the event circulated online, royal observers were quick to point out just how much the blonde royal resembled Michael Middleton, 72.

One commented that George “is a mini Michael Middleton.”

“Prince George looks like a blonde version of Michael Middleton,” said another.

“George is so much like his grandfather – Michael Middleton,” added another Foyal fan.

“I think George prefers Earl Spencer and Michael Middleton in looks,” said another, adding that his sister Princess Charlotte looks more like Prince William, 39.

Another agreed he was “all Papa Middleton,” while another said he had his grandfather’s looks and the height of his father, the Duke of Cambridge.

Regardless of who he takes his looks from, George stunned royal fans yesterday.

The good prince and his sister impressed with their calm composure at yesterday’s service.

George – dressed like his father’s double in a suit and tie – looked somber, perhaps because he understood the seriousness of the situation.

The future king acted solemnly as he walked at his father’s side and looked his best throughout the service.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made the decision to bring their two eldest children to Westminster Abbey to pay their respects to their great-grandfather, Prince Philip.

The service is one of the most important outings to date for the two young royals, who were both close to Prince Philip before his death aged 99 last April.

George and Charlotte were both on their best behavior, abiding by their orders of service while listening to people pay tribute to their great-grandfather and his extraordinary life.

Princess Charlotte wore a tartan dress for the service, a navy blue coat and black patent leather shoes and had a pretty bow in her hair.

George, who has been taking a number of trips to major sporting events with his parents in recent months, was his father’s lookalike in a navy blue suit and tie.

The Queen has 12 great-grandchildren, 10 of whom were born before the Duke of Edinburgh’s death last April.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s other great-grandchildren are Princess Charlotte, six, Prince Louis, three, Lena Tindall, also three, and her one-year-old brother Lucas, Princess Eugenie’s one-year-old son August Brooksbank and Princess Beatrice’s daughter Sienna Mapelli Mozz, who died in September year was born.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children Archie, two, and Lilibet, nine months, are staying with the couple in California.

Seven of the couple’s eight grandchildren were also in attendance. Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, the Duke of Cambridge, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn all made a rare appearance together. The only missing grandchild was the Duke of Sussex, who remained in California.
