Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favorite pastime for many fans, perhaps even more important than watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors from the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important note: Rumors are just that – rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it's just circulating in the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track the veracity of the rumors in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back, which you can find here. Remember to take everything with caution.
Rumors for this day:
- Dave Meltzer wrote in the Daily Update that Seth Rollins “has to make a decision.” He'll probably talk on Raw about what he's doing about his knee.
- It's unclear when Kenny Omega will return, says the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as he is currently waiting seven weeks to see if he will need surgery for his diverticulitis. Apparently his condition was so bad that surgery was out of the question, so they'll have to wait to find out how he's doing.
- Wrestling Observer Radio said both AEW and WWE have made offers to Kazuchika Okada, but he hasn't decided where he'll go yet.
- Meanwhile, multiple NJPW sources told Sports Illustrated that Okada's decision to leave NJPW “was not unexpected, nor did it surprise anyone.” His decision on whether to sign with WWE or AEW “is expected to be made fairly soon,” with TNA a “distant third” option.
- According to PW Insider, Logan Paul has been training with Cameron Grimes to prepare for his match against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble.
- According to the Observer, Will Ospreay will be appearing regularly on television starting in February. He is also slated for the Greensboro revolution.
