Speculating about the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favorite pastime for many fans, perhaps even more important than watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors from the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important note: Rumors are just that – rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it's just circulating in the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track the veracity of the rumors in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back, which you can find here. Remember to take everything with caution.
Rumors for this day:
- Regarding the end of talks for Mercedes Moné to return to WWE, a WWE source told Fightful Select that their side has “given up” after no progress was made in negotiations.
- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter states: “WWE staff expects” Andrade to return to the promotion in 2024 after his AEW contract expires. However, people close to Andrade say he is willing to stay with AEW if Tony Khan makes a better offer than WWE.
- The Observer also notes that Giulia's contract with Stardom expires in March 2024 and it is “likely expected that she will join WWE at some point after that.” At the moment, that is the direction “it is trending”.
- AEW President Tony Khan told the media this week that Britt Baker and PAC are on the injured list. Fightful heard that Baker visited backstage at the Dynamite taping in Orlando this week.
- Following the story of Hiroshi Tanahashi replacing Takami Ohbari as NJPW president, F4WOnline's Dave Meltzer explains that “Ohbari had heat with a number of people” and top star Kazuchika Okada “allegedly wanted him out.”
