Ubisoft has made it clear that Assassin’s Creed is its favorite franchise at the moment. We already know that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming in October, before Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, and Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR await you on the horizon. If everything goes as planned, we will even return to a beloved environment.
Kotaku’s Ethan Gach has learned from two sources that Ubisoft is working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It’s the one with Edward Kenway and lots of naval battles and exploration, in case you don’t remember. I can confirm that to a certain extent, but my sources tell me that the project is in such an early stage that they haven’t decided if it’s going to be a direct remake or just “extremely Black Flag.” to be inspired”.
Before we celebrate out loud, it’s important to note that Ubisoft Singapore, the same studio currently producing Skull and Bones, should be one of the main studios doing this. Sure, that’s pretty fitting considering how early his next game is in development, since many love the naval aspect of Black Flag, but the making of Skull and Bones hasn’t exactly gone well.
