The end of an era. After a career spanning more than seventy years, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, at the age of 92, becomes chairman of Fox Corporation, the parent company of American conservatives’ favorite channel Fox News, and News Corp. left and passed the baton to his son Lachlan, the two companies announced in a press release on Thursday, September 21st.

This withdrawal by the Australian-American businessman will take effect at the next general meeting of the two companies in mid-November. Rupert Murdoch then becomes honorary chairman of both groups.
“We thank him for his vision, his pioneering spirit, his unwavering determination and the lasting legacy he leaves to the companies he founded and the countless people he influenced,” Lachlan Murdoch said in the press release.
