According to The Sun newspaper, Russell Brand’s last show on mainstream British television was taken off the air five years ago after a comedian accused her of predatory behavior.
A week after The Times newspaper and Channel 4’s Dispatches collaborated to publish a list of claims about the comedian-turned-influencer, including allegations of rape, sexual assault and abusive behavior – all of which he denies – The Sun reports that plans for “Russell Brand TV” to be broadcast by the BBC have been put on hold after it emerged that comedian Katherine Ryan publicly criticized Ryan Brand over his behavior during a taping of Comedy Central’s Roast Battle had addressed in 2017. The portion of this show never aired.
This happens after a week in which:
- The BBC has removed all content featuring the comedian from its streaming platforms and announced a review of his behavior during his employment at the broadcaster
- Brand’s live stand-up tour was postponed after he performed in front of 2,000 people in London last week on the night the allegations first aired and received a standing ovation from his fans
- A growing number of women have come forward with allegations of abusive behavior by the comedian during his peak period between 2008 and 2013
- Brand posted a video online Friday evening urging people to watch his videos on Rumble. He continued to deny all allegations against him and said it had been “an extraordinary and disturbing week.”
