Russell Brand faces a new sexual abuse allegation

The actor and comedian Russell BrandThe 48yearold received a new accusation of sexual abuse. According to People magazine, London’s Metropolitan Police said they were in contact with the victim and that the alleged attack took place in 2003.

The allegation came to light after The Times and The Sunday Times published articles last Saturday (16) with allegations from four women who accused Brand of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse. The Times also reported on Monday (18) that “several women” had contacted the outlet since publication.
This Tuesday (19), a spokesperson for the London Metropolitan Police spoke to People about the new allegation. “On Sunday 17 September, the Met received a report of a sexual assault believed to have occurred in Soho, central London, in 2003. Officers are in contact with the woman and will provide support.”
“We first spoke to the Sunday Times on Saturday September 16 and have since reached out to the Sunday Times and Channel 4 to ensure that anyone who believes they have been the victim of a sex crime knows how he can report it to the police,” the statement continued.

The crimes reported on Saturday allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2013. The charges include that of a woman who was just 16 years old at the time. Russell, who starred in films such as The Hangover (2008), The Hangover (2008) and Arthur the Irresistible Millionaire (2011), denied all allegations.
