Russia announces the arrest of about twenty “accomplices” of the Ukrainian army

On Thursday, the Russian occupying power announced the arrest of around 20 “accomplices” of the Ukrainian army in the occupied areas of Kherson and Zaporizhia in southern Ukraine during a Ukrainian counter-offensive in this area.

The Russian National Guard “arrested 21 accomplices of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kherson and Zaporizhia Oblasts,” the Kherson occupation administration said in a statement on Telegram.

According to the same source, 13 grenade launchers, more than 31,000 cartridges of various calibers, 53 grenades and more than 24 kilos of explosives were seized from these people.

In addition, seven mines and artillery shells were defused, the statement said without further information.

Russian security services also allegedly dismantled a group of Ukrainian agents in Kherson who provided information to the Ukrainian army about the use of Russian forces in that city and its surroundings to direct Ukrainian rocket fire, according to a military source cited by the public authority Ria Novosti.

This announcement came the day after the Ukrainian strikes that partially destroyed a key bridge in Kherson that was strategic and key to supplying Russian forces and the city.

Kherson, the capital of the region of the same name, is just a few kilometers from the front line where Ukrainian forces have launched a counter-offensive to retake those territories lost in the first days of the Russian offensive against Ukraine.
