Drone footage shows destruction in Mariupol following Russian attacks

A drone video has surfaced showing alleged Russian military attacks and destruction in the eastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

According to Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson, officials there say about 2,500 of its residents were killed during the Russian invasion.

Israel to Russian oligarchs: there is no way around sanctions

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid on Monday warned Russian oligarchs that his country “will not become a way to bypass the sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and other Western countries.”

Lapid’s comments come after Israeli media reported that private jets owned by oligarchs have landed in Israel in recent days, the Associated Press reported.

A spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C. has apparently denied reports that Russia has contacted his government to request military assistance.

“I have never heard of this,” spokesman Liu Pengyu said, according to Reuters.

“The current situation in Ukraine is really confusing,” Pengyu added. “The top priority now is to prevent the tense situation from escalating or even spiraling out of control.”

China abstained in several UN votes to condemn Russia.

Despite predictions by some officials that Russian forces could take Kyiv within 72 hours of the invasion, the Ukrainians were able to defend their capital and halt the Russian advance.
