Russia continues attacks in eastern Ukraine

According to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow, Russian troops continued their attacks in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. Counterattacks by the Ukrainian army were beaten back and, as a result, advantageous positions were taken, ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in Moscow today. On the other hand, the Ukrainian military announced that Russian advances on the defense line were stopped.

Following the recent rocket attacks on Ukraine’s power infrastructure, authorities reported progress in restoring supplies, including in the capital Kyiv and in the Kharkiv region. According to the mayor of Kiev, Vitaly Klitschko, there is running water again for all residents of the city.

Heavy rocket fire in many parts of the country

The Kremlin, for its part, reported that President Vladimir Putin spent all of yesterday in charge of the “special military operation”. The Russian leadership uses this expression to describe its war of aggression against Ukraine.

Putin was informed there about the upcoming war goals. Details were not given. Earlier in the weekend, Russia once again launched massive rocket attacks on Ukraine.

Russia’s rocket attacks in Kyiv and many other parts of Ukraine are among the most serious since attacks on the country’s power plants began in October. Ukraine spoke of more than 70 rocket attacks, most of which were intercepted by air defenses. As a result of the blows and damage, power and water supply failed again in many regions.
