Regarding allegations by US Undersecretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland about the alleged involvement of Russian leaders in the deaths of thousands of Ukrainians and Russian soldiers, the diplomat stressed that Russia’s special military operation aims to put an end to the genocide of civilians in Donbass.

“Such cynical rhetoric from a State Department spokesman is unacceptable. Washington must be held accountable for the cities destroyed and the loss of tens of thousands of lives in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria. The myriad atrocities that have marked the path of the United States,” he argued. Antonov reminded that on March 24 the world commemorated the victims of Yugoslavia, where as a result of the American bombardment that lasted 78 days, more than two thousand innocent people died, including children, women and the elderly.

“The United States has destroyed numerous civilian infrastructure facilities and thus led the country into a humanitarian catastrophe,” emphasized the head of the mission abroad.

He reiterated that the Russian special operation aims to end the long-running genocide of civilians in eastern Ukraine and to disarm neo-Nazis in Ukraine.

“It’s time to understand that our country, unlike the United States, is doing everything it can to stop war crimes,” the ambassador concluded.

In this regard, at a special session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) on Ukraine the day before, Ministerial Counselor of the Russian Embassy in the United States Alexander Kim stressed that the Eurasian nation is not starting a war, on the contrary, they are finish him.

The diplomat said that the Russian side considers “discussions on the OAS platform on issues unrelated to the pressing problems of the countries of the western hemisphere to be unjustified”.

In this sense, he argued that there were enough multilateral organizations in the world better suited to discussing the European security crisis.

However, he stated that the Kiev regime is practicing Nazi methods against the civilian population and using them as a human shield, while Russia is doing everything in its power to reach negotiated decisions on the speedy restoration of peace in Donbass and the return of all citizens of Ukraine to normal Life.
