Russia rejects Zelenskyy peace law

This Wednesday, the 28th, Russia rejected the “peace project” put forward by the President of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the Kremlin, the proposals must take into account “current realities” regarding the annexation of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.

“There can be no peace plan for Ukraine that does not take into account the current realities regarding Russian territory with the accession of four regions to Russia,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “Plans that do not take these realities into account cannot be peaceful.”

The plan rejected by Russia

The project presented by President Zelenskyy in November envisages the withdrawal of Russian troops from internationally recognized territory through Ukraine. The peace plan was discussed with US President Joe Biden. There was a call for world leaders to form a global peace summit.

Check out the 10 points of the project:

  • radiation and nuclear safety;
  • food safety;
  • energy security;
  • release of prisoners and deportees;
  • implementation of the UN Charter;
  • withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities;
  • Justice;
  • ecocide and environmental protection;
  • escalation prevention;
  • confirmation of the end of the war.
