“Tonight [vendredi à samedi]”The attempted terrorist attack by the Kiev regime using twenty drones on targets on the territory of the Crimean peninsula was foiled,” the Defense Ministry said on Telegram.
Fourteen Ukrainian drones were destroyed by air defense systems and another six by electronic warfare, he said.
The attack claimed no casualties and caused no damage, the Department of Defense added.
The Russian army announced on Friday that it had destroyed a Ukrainian drone in western Moscow amid such attacks on the Russian capital.
“The drone was neutralized using electronic warfare and crashed in a forested area west of Moscow,” the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram, blaming “the Kiev regime.”
The Russian army clarified that the drone was aimed at “an installation on the territory of Moscow,” without specifying the potential target of the device.
For his part, the Moscow mayor previously said the drone crashed “without causing significant damage” in a forest park on the banks of the Moskva River, which flows through the Russian capital.
In late July and early August, drones were shot down over the Moscow business district in the western part of the Russian capital, slightly damaging the facades of two towers. Two drones were shot down over the Kremlin in May.
