31-year-old forward Bogdan Potekhin was just fired by Sokol Krasnoyarsk for stealing sticks from the Supreme Hockey League (VHL) team’s locker room.
The winner of two championships in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) has been working in the second Russian circle for several seasons. He was also Sokol’s top scorer before he was fired.

According to Sport24.ru, Potekhin was singled out by team management after equipment began mysteriously disappearing. Images from the locker room’s security cameras showed the veteran happily helping himself to the stock reserve.
Potekhin was released last Saturday and it didn’t take long for him to get back on his feet. He signed a contract with another VHL team, HK Norilsk, on Monday.
In 26 games so far in 2023-2024, the right winger has scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists for 22 points.
