Zelensky: “Another dimension of Christmas for millions of Ukrainians”
Millions of Ukrainians experienced “another dimension of Christmas” and celebrated this holiday again in times of great war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a speech he gave on Christmas Eve and posted on YouTube, the Kyiv Independent reported. “This Christmas has a different mood, a different context, a different taste,” said Zelensky, “today all Ukrainians are together.” Let’s celebrate Christmas together. On the same day, like a big family, like a nation, like a united country.” Starting this year, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has officially switched to December 25th to celebrate the holiday. In fact, Christmas has been celebrated in Ukraine on January 7 since 1917: the bill passed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July represents just the latest attempt to eradicate the invader's influence in the country. “Our gifts, values and traditions have changed. Nowadays it's not so much about how we decorate our homes, but more about protecting and purifying them and wiping out the enemy. “We are happy to see the first star in the evening sky and no enemy missiles and drones there,” Zelensky said.
