War in Ukraine, almost a year after the beginning of the conflict comes the dire prediction of the army of Kyiv. Ukraine is preparing for Russia to attempt to invade from the north, possibly as early as February 24, coinciding with the start of the full-scale invasion launched last year. This was stated by Lieutenant General Andrii Kovalchuk, commander of the Ukrainian army, in an interview with British broadcaster Sky News.
“Yes, we foresee such options, such scenarios. We are preparing. We live with the thought that they will attack again. That is our job,” he explained, focusing in particular on the possibility that Russian troops could invade from Belarus and attack the capital, Kyiv. Ukraine is preparing “a possible offensive by Belarus at the end of February, maybe even later,” Kovalchuk said again, stressing that Kyiv will be better prepared to repel Putin’s troops, adding that “they will no longer be able to to simply invade, as happened on February 24”.
