Moscow, November 27 (Prensa Latina) Russia has not prepared and will not make plans for aggression and conquest in Europe, the Eurasian nation’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today on the opening day of the International Primakov Reading Forum.
The head of Russian diplomacy recalled that the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, irresponsibly stated that if Russia wins, Russia will not stop the conflict in Ukraine and will continue it towards the Baltics, Poland and other neighbors.
“This is said by a person who holds a responsible position and who cannot help but receive assessments from experts who analyze the situation between Moscow and Washington and certainly understand what exactly is being decided in Ukraine,” Lavrov stressed.
The Chancellor said that the main reason for the special military operation in Ukraine was that the authorities of this country began to eradicate everything Russian, and then used this as a tool to inflict a strategic defeat on the battlefield for Russia in the interests of the West. .
Lavrov also assured that most of the sanctions against Russia will remain in place even after the end of the conflict, as the West wants to buy time and re-arm Ukraine.
“That is why we must produce everything independently, so that no new whim, if they want to attack us with sanctions, makes us suffer,” he added in his speech at the plenary session of the international forum “Primakov Readings”.
All these interconnections of war actions and sanctions by Washington have led to the destruction of almost the entire system of arms control agreements, said the Russian Foreign Minister.
“I don’t know what historians will call this period, but the fact that thanks to the USA almost the entire package of arms control agreements was destroyed is a fact, hundreds and hundreds of pages have already been written about it,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.
Lavrov added that he would deal with the current period in world history “as responsibly as possible.”
