Russian planes shot down 51 military targets of the Ukrainian armed forces last night, spokesman for that country’s defense ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, reported today.

He pointed out that the Russian military simultaneously advanced four kilometers and took control of the towns of Batmanka, Mijáilovka, Krasny Partizan, Stavki and Troitskoye in an offensive against units of the 25th Ukrainian Airborne Brigade.

According to the report, the Ka-52 and Mi-28N helicopters destroyed 24 military equipment of the Kiev troops, including seven tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles and three infantry fighting vehicles.

He noted that Russian air defense systems shot down four Ukrainian drones in the air in the area of ​​​​the settlements of Boromlia, Borshchevaya, Oleshnia and Usok.

Konashenkov reported that since the military operation began on February 24, the Russian armed forces have eliminated 261 drones, 204 anti-aircraft missile systems, and 1,587 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles.

In addition, 163 multiple rocket launchers, 636 field guns and mortars, and 1,397 units of military special vehicles were disabled.

In a speech informing about the start of the operation last February, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the aim of the actions is to protect the people of Donbass from the abuses and genocide in Kyiv over the past eight years, in addition to the “Demilitarization” and “denazification” of Ukraine.

That country’s defense ministry said the attacks weren’t aimed at the people or Ukrainian cities, but at its military infrastructure.
