Russian attack troops capture Ukrainian strongholds in Zaporozhye

Moscow, March 2nd. – Russian paratroopers from the Novorossiysk and Stavropol units occupied bases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Verbovoy in the Zaporozhye sector, the Russian Defense Ministry reported today.

As the military unit reported on its official website on Saturday, the paratroopers were supported by air fire during the attack and captured several soldiers of the Kiev armed forces after surrendering the enemy positions.

In the combat report, the Ministry of Defense stated that the attack units approached the defensive positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, bombarded the bunkers in which the combatants were hiding with hand-held fragmentation grenades, and finally occupied the positions.

The military department also stated that the Ukrainian army is not capable of conducting a serious battle. It is known that during the evacuation of the fortresses, several soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were captured and those who resisted were liquidated.

Earlier, the governor of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeny Balitsky, said that Russian troops had a clear advantage in artillery in the region and that the enemy could not respond. (Text and photo: PL)
