The government of the Russian Federation handed over a donation of 19,526 tons of wheat worth more than 6,000,000 dollars this Thursday in Havanato support the prevention and control plan for SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
The awards ceremony was presided over by Andrei A. Guskov, that country’s Ambassador to Cuba, and Cuban First Deputy Ministers Lázara Mercedes López Acea, for Food Industry, and Ana Teresita González Fraga, for Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and other officials.
The Russian diplomat stressed his government’s intention to continue offering aid to the islandeven if the complex international scenario, the tightening of the US blockade and the coercive measures taken against Russia are trying to weaken the strategic partnership ties between the two countries.
