Various Russian military aircraft, including strategic fighters and bomberswere intercepted by North American air defense forces while flying over the international airspace near Alaskasaid the US military.
The aircraft identified on Feb. 13 had not entered U.S. or Canadian airspace and posed no threat, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said in a Feb. 14 statement.
The agency added Russian flights were unconnected to the mysterious wave of airborne objects shot down by the US military over North America in recent weeks.

“NORAD anticipated this Russian activity and based on our planning, was ready to intercept it… Two NORAD F16 fighters intercepted the Russian plane,” he said.
Although NORAD says so sometimes accompanies aircraft from airspace near Alaskaif necessary, do not tell if it was like this this time.
A Russia did not report if its planes were interceptedsaid so on Wednesday conducted several flights over international waters in the last few days, among other things, in the Bering Sea between Alaska and Russia.
While Russia has flown over the Bering Sea before, its neighbors in the region have more concerned about Moscow’s military activities since the invasion of Ukraine last year.
