In a program aired on Tuesday evening (26), presenters of Russian state television defended a nuclear war as a way out of the conflict in Eastern Europe. The possibility of resorting to nuclear warheads to prevent other countries from intervening in Russia’s war against Ukraine was raised by presenter Vladimir Solovyov in a program of the channel of the same name. “We’re all going to die one day,” Margarita Simonyan, a journalist and head of RT, told viewers, according to a Newsweek magazine report.

Russian official media have used caustic rhetoric to justify war as “inevitable”. “Personally, I think the most realistic path is the WWIII path, based on knowing us and our leader, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,” Simonyan said, noting that “there is no chance” for Russia to abandon the conflict .

Continuing her speech, she gambled that “everything will end in a nuclear attack, it’s more likely than the other outcome. On the one hand, this is to my horror, but on the other hand, with the understanding that it is the way it is.” . On this prediction, moderator Vladimir Solovyov added: “But we will go to heaven, while they will simply die. “
