All cell phones pose a health risk, especially to children, due to electromagnetic radiation. This was stated by the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) to the portal Gazeta.ru, commenting on speculation that Russia would follow France’s example and ban the sale of the iPhone 12.
“The radiation from all cell phones is dangerous for people, especially children. It is important to follow these safety rules “When making calls on a cell phone, the following applies: A conversation should not last longer than two minutes and the minimum break between calls should be at least 15 minutes,” the agency explained, according to the media.
Previously, the French National Frequency Authority (ANFR) ordered Apple to withdraw the iPhone 12 from the national market after discovering that it was this model exceeds the limit of the specific absorption rate (SAR), an indicator that measures the amount of radio frequency energy from devices absorbed by the tissues of the human body.
The ANFR analyzed the iPhone 12 and found that the specific absorption rate in the Apple device is 5.7 watts per kilogram, while the legal limit is 4 W/kg.
Rospotrebnadzor emphasized that electromagnetic radiation is measured differently in Russia than in the SAR system, which is why Results “not comparable”.
