British 007: “Russian support for war falls”
Russian public support for the “military special operation” is falling sharply: data shows that 55% of Russians support peace talks with Ukraine, while only 25% are in favor of continuing the conflict. This was announced by the intelligence service of the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter in its daily update. The survey – explains the London report – was conducted by independent Russian media, which had access to data collected by the Russian Federal Protection Service for internal use. “Despite efforts by Russian authorities to enforce pervasive control over the information sphere, the conflict has become increasingly tangible for many Russians since partial mobilization in September 2022,” British intelligence said. “With Russia not making any major gains on the battlefield in the coming months, it is likely that the Kremlin will find it increasingly difficult to sustain even tacit popular support for war.”

Britain: “War is slowing down”
Fighting in Ukraine is slowing and likely to continue into the coming winter months. However, there is no evidence of a weakening of the resistance of the Kiev forces, US intelligence director Avril Haines said at a defense forum in California, as reported by the Guardian. Haines said both sides would try to “supply and resupply” any spring counteroffensive while Russia lost more than half of the territory it captured. Haines pointed out that most of the fighting took place in eastern Ukraine’s Bakhmut and Donetsk regions, and that fighting had slowed after Russian troops pulled out of western Kherson last month. “We are already seeing some kind of slowdown in the pace of conflict and expect that to be the result in the coming months,” he noted. “Both the Ukrainian and Russian armies will prepare for a counter-offensive after the winter. But we’re actually a bit skeptical about whether the Russians are willing to do that or not,” he said, but stressed that US intelligence believes Russian President Vladimir Putin does not have a full picture at this point, discouraging his military forces. we see ammunition shortages, supply problems, logistics, a whole host of concerns that the Russians face.”
