A short video published on the official channel of Ukrainian Ministry of Defense portrays the President Zelensky while speaking a few words in a hoarse and seemingly sluggish voice on Easter morning. The stance sparked controversy and interpretation. In the comments to the video, many wonder if the Ukrainian President is drunk or just very tired and stressed. The video was released in the early hours of April 17, giving credence to the exhaustion hypothesis. However, the words do not sound like those of a drunkard. In fact, the President, framing some objects in his room, says: “52 days. We work, we love (frames the family photo), we thank (frames the statue Johnson gave him), we are proud (frames the flag). We’re going to win (raise fist)”. Since the beginning of the war, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has refused to leave the country, despite offers and several assassination attempts. In the past few weeks, some deepfake videos have been released to damage the image at home and abroad.
