Ryan Goslings Action Thriller The Fall Guy Gets New Release

Ryan Gosling’s Action Thriller ‘The Fall Guy’ Gets New Release Date

“The Fall Guy” starring Ryan Gosling has been given a new release date: May 3, 2024.

Universal Pictures had originally planned to release the action thriller on March 1 next year, but has now postponed the film’s premiere until May.

Deadpool 3 was also set to debut on May 3, but was recently pushed back to July 26 as part of a Marvel release date change, making the original date more attractive to other studios.

In The Fall Guys, Ryan Gosling plays Colt Seavers, a former stuntman who is drawn back into the industry when the star of a mega-budget blockbuster (played by Aaron Taylor Johnson) disappears.

Here is the official synopsis:

“He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, smashed, thrown through windows and dropped from heights – all for our entertainment.” And now, fresh from an accident , which almost ended his career, this working-class hero must track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his job. What could possibly go right?”

In addition to Gosling and Johnson, the film stars Emily Blunt as director (and Seavers’ ex) Jody Moreno and Hannah Waddingham as the film’s unscrupulous producer. David Leitch, director of Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train, is directing the film from a script by Drew Pearce.

“The Fall Guy” is based on the original TV series that premiered on ABC in 1981 and ran for five seasons until 1986. The original series starred Lee Majors as Colt and Heather Thomas as Jody and followed the stuntman-turned-bounty hunter who used his skills in car stunts to track down criminals. Original star Majors will make an appearance in the film.
