Ryan Reynolds co-founded the production and advertising company Maximum Effort with producer and screenwriter George Dewey in 2018. This will make it the largest film and television production center in Canada.
The Deadpool star explains that this studio is one of the first projects of a $1.5 billion private equity fund that will focus on real estate, sports, media and venture capital.
With kind approval
“Raising a fund and building a 1.2 million square foot studio in Ontario is both amazing and humbling to me. Either way, I’m excited to expand our storytelling capabilities in new directions and bring more production work to Ontario,” said the actress’ wife, Blake Lively.

Construction of this production studio, dedicated exclusively to cinema, scripted and unscripted reality TV, drama series, live action and animated feature films, is scheduled to begin shortly. It will also include a technical incubator and a “virtual production campus” offering professional training.
Maximum Effort is behind the production of the film Free Guy at 20th Century Studios, The Adam Project on Netflix, Spirited on Apple TV+, Shotgun Wedding on Amazon Studios and the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham, which follows the Reynolds purchase of Welsh football club Wrexham AFC follows and Rob McElhenney on FX and Disney+.
In May 2021, Maximum Effort Productions signed a three-year first-look development deal with Paramount Pictures for feature film projects.
