Ryan Reynolds is open to the idea of expanding his sports team portfolio with the actor, who is reportedly interested in acquiring the NHL franchise Ottawa Senators.
Hollywood star and fellow actor Rob McElhenney took over English fifth-tier football club Wrexham in February 2021 after a $2.76 million deal.
And now Reynolds from Vancouver, Canada could fly solo to buy the Senators, according to People.

The report claims that the 46-year-old could express an interest in buying the team if the current owners, the Melnyk family, consider a sale.
A source told the outlet Reynolds is keen for the team to stay in Ottawa amid concerns that a sale to another party could result in the franchise being relocated.
A Reynolds representative declined to comment to People. has reached out to Reynolds officials and senators for comment.
The franchise is currently valued at $655 million — the sixth cheapest in the NFL out of 32 teams, Sportico reports.
Reynolds didn’t rule out the possibility when asked about it by a fan on Twitter.

Anna and Olivia Melnyk took over the Senators following the death of their father and owner Eugene Melnyk in March.
He has owned the Senators since 2003 when he bought the NHL club for $92 million.
Melnyk bought the Senators after Rod Bryden’s deal to retake the franchise was unsuccessful.
Toronto-based Jeffrey and Michael Kimel could be additional bidders for the senators, according to the Ottawa Sun.
