Ryan Seacrest claims Andy Cohen ignored him during New Year’s Eve show as Kelly Ripa defends ‘The Real Housewives’ producer

Ryan Seacrest and Andy Cohen welcomed in 2023 with their respective New Year’s Eve specials in Times Square, New York City. The two were close on Saturday night and Seacrest revealed the producer of The Real Housewives had snubbed him.

On Live! With Kelly and Ryan, the American Idol host said he tried to say hello to Cohen but never acknowledged him.

“My big stage was right in front of Anderson [Cooper] and Andy and stuff like that, when I wasn’t working, I was trying to get their attention,” Seacrest said during his morning show. “I thought I might be in the clear. I just wanted to wave and say hello. You know, they have a great show.”

Seacrest said Cooper “turned around” and kissed him, “How are you?” and “Have a good show.”

“Andy didn’t turn around,” Seacrest added.

Kelly Ripa, a close friend of Cohen’s, interrupted and said, “That’s not true. He said he was trying to get your attention.”

Surprised by Ripa’s comment, Seacrest said, “Really? I say, ‘Hey, it’s me. guys it’s me Put me in your shot. Put me in your background.’”

The Kardashian producer said all of the presenters are “within 10 feet of each other to do the show.”

Cohen and Seacrest have traded jabs for each other over the years. Seacrest recently said it was a “good idea” to not let CNN hosts drink during their live broadcast, to which Cohen was not pleased. Last year, Cohen called the cast on Seacrest’s show “losers.”

Ripa is friends with all three hosts and was also in a quandary over who to see on New Year’s Eve. However, the daytime talk show host said she has two TVs side-by-side.

“I had to watch my boys,” Ripa said, before explaining that she “rolled into my other TV and we have our TV next to our TV and we have both on at the same time.”

Another thing Ripa mentioned that was “hugely helpful” in watching both shows was that CNN and ABC didn’t go on commercial breaks at the same time, adding, “So when commercials were on ABC, we muted the commercials.” aired, and when the commercial ran on CNN, we muted the commercial. It was very helpful.”
