Globo’s sports narrator Renata Silveira was surprised when she revealed her past as a dancer on TV in Domingão do Faustão, Xuxa Meneghel and even in soap operas.
During her participation in “Domingão com Huck” this Sunday (16), Silveira stressed that she is a fan of dance and that she invested in this field long before becoming a storyteller.
“I was a ballerina for Xuxa, I’ve danced in several programs and soap operas … and I never thought I would become a narrator,” she said.
Renata explained that she became a storyteller after a Globo radio competition in 2014. “At the time, I was doing a postgraduate degree in sports journalism and was struggling to find an internship in the area. I never thought it would work out as a narrator, I could never have imagined that because I had never seen a woman narrate a football game.”
Renata Silveira was the first woman to present a soccer World Cup match on public television in Brazil. She is currently preparing to narrate the matches of the Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand.
