AYODHYA: Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, industrialists Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani and Ratan Tata, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and actors Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia, who played Ram and Sita in the popular TV series ‘Ramayana’ among the prominent personalities invited to the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
The Ram Mandir Trust has sent invitations to over 7,000 people, including 3,000 VIPs. Families of karsevaks who lost their lives during the temple movement are also invited. Other invitees include RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, yoga guru Ramdev, 4,000 seers, writers, journalists, scientists and prominent personalities from across the country.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust general secretary Champat Rai said, “We plan to invite one representative each from 50 foreign countries. Families of 50 karsevaks who lost their lives during the movement were also invited. Invitations were also sent to judges, scientists, writers and poets.
“We have also invited saints, priests, Shankaracharyas, former civil servants, retired army officers, lawyers, musicians and Padma awardees,” he said.
“Ram Lalla will sit in the temple in the form of a five-year-old boy. For this, three idols are made using two stones from Karnataka and one from Rajasthan. The idols are almost finished and are being handed over “The final touches. The most beautiful idol will be selected for consecration,” Rai said.
VHP spokesperson Sharad Sharma said, “We have also invited journalists who have supported the Ram Temple movement through their writings and reports. Without them, the battle for the Ram temple could not have been successful.” The VVIPs gain entry through barcode passes. “Of the 7,000 invited, about 4,000 would be religious leaders. The rest are prominent personalities from various fields. A link will be shared with those invited prior to the ceremony. Once they register, a barcode will be generated which will function as the entry ticket,” said Sharma.
The letter of invitation duly signed by Champat Rai stated: “You are aware that after a long struggle, the construction of the temple is underway at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi and on Paush Shukla Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080, Monday, January 22, In 2024, the new idol of Ram Lalla will be consecrated in the Sanctum Sanctorum.”
“It is our strong wish that you be present in Ayodhya on this auspicious occasion to witness the consecration and enhance the dignity of this great historic day.”
