SAG Awards 2023 Worst Dressed Stars Revealed

SAG Awards 2023: Worst Dressed Stars Revealed

As awards season draws closer to the grand finale of next month’s Oscars, it seems some of Hollywood’s stars are running out of fashion inspiration for the red carpets — at least when it comes to the ensembles to be seen at tonight’s SAG Awards , would mind of.

The biggest celebrities in film and television descended on Los Angeles tonight to celebrate the prestigious awards – many of them putting on incredibly glamorous red carpet shows before the ceremony.

But as always, there were several attendees who got it all wrong when choosing their outfits for the awards ceremony, with some eschewing the glamorous dress code altogether, while others just went way too far in their choice of daring designer looks.

Topping the worst dressed list at this year’s SAG Awards was the usually stylish Michelle Yeoh, whose strapless black dress looked like straws were taped to the front.

Babylon star Li Jun Li took the phrase

Babylon star Li Jun Li took the phrase “dare to bare” to the extreme when she arrived in a see-through dress that gave more than a glimpse of her nude lingerie set

The bizarre creation appeared to have a somewhat elegant silhouette that was completely obliterated by the crumpled pieces of fabric, which closely resembled the end of a haystack.

Another normally fashionable red carpet attendee was Rooney Mara, whose black and white lace dress resembled a wedding dress worn by a character in a Harry Potter film very closely thanks to the bird design on the front.

The black tassels, which only hung down from part of the front of the design, also made it look like the dress was slowly falling apart as she walked the carpet.

Another person who went over the top with her look was Babylon star Li Jun Li, who took the phrase “dare you bare” to the extreme when she arrived in a completely see-through dress that was more than just one peek at her nude lingerie set underneath.

The glittering ensemble was more mesh than dress – and the sheer material was made even more daring by the bright camera flashes on the red carpet.

Then there was New Amsterdam star Jessica Frances Dukes, whose dress featured an incredibly uncomfortable-looking, high-necked feather collar that looked like it was about to swallow its wearer.

But if the designer behind the dress went over the top with the fabric at the neckline, it’s only because they could skimp on the rest of the dress, which featured a huge neckline in the front, leaving the actress’ cleavage in full glory, while a thigh-high slit gave plenty of leg flashed.

Overall, the effect was one of uneasiness rather than elegance.

While Julia Garner certainly drew attention with her dramatic new hairdo, her blunt white-blonde bangs couldn’t completely distract from her metallic gown – which looked like the top half had been crafted from a Little Mermaid costume, while the sparkly red train appeared to have done so Made from scraps of fabric left over from a Moulin Rouge dancer.

The beaded mesh design that covered her shoulders and cleavage looked more like an ornate fishing net when paired with the shell-shaped pieces that covered her cleavage – and the marine theme was continued with the pleated fish-style embellishments descending from her elbows excelled.

British actress Sheila Atim chose a dress from a similar color palette, opting for a plunging burgundy design with a skirt and crop top.

The skirt was the main attraction of the look… but it could have been better placed in a circus tent than on a glittery red carpet.

It looked like it was made from scraps of fabric stolen from old button-down shirts that had simply been tied around her waist, while two huge cuffed sleeves made it look like she’d worn a 3XL shirt borrowed from someone who was en route to the ceremony.

The look was then finished off with a rather cheesy looking corset-style crop top that featured Madonna-inspired cups and a rather garish red trim.

Parent Trap star Elaine Hendrix looked dapper in a tuxedo – however, the look was made complete by her Morticia Addams-esque makeup, which showcased a dark smoky eye and a very bold red lip that, when with her was combined, a rather morbid note pale complexion looked more Halloween-inspired.
