Saguenay Lac Saint Jean a tourist season that meets all

Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean: a tourist season that meets all expectations

On the eve of the new school year, tourism companies draw a positive balance of the summer season in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean due to the high number of international tourists visiting the region.

A couple from Germany chose Saguenay to spend their holidays there this summer.

“We will only visit Tadoussac here and then. It’s really a beautiful city,” explained one tourist.

To the delight of the industry, international tourists were there again this year. “We have a lot of people from all over the world, from Europe and from French-speaking people,” explained the pulp mill’s communications director, Danny Cloutier. “We receive customers from all over the world, we see an increase in French customers, also Americans,” reported the manager, Lauraine Gagnon.

The overall portrait of the summer is not yet complete, but it already looks promising. “The temperature in August is very good and you can tell. Last week we had a great week. We hope that this autumn it will also be the return of the groups by bus,” said Lauraine Gagnon.

At the Cap Jaseux adventure park, the lack of manpower has forced the organization to adapt. A minimum number of patrols is required at Arbre en Arbre, forcing certain days to be closed due to staff shortages, an employee at Parc Aventure Cap Jaseux reported.

It’s a welcome return to normal for the tourism industry.
