EVENT. Mother Nature will not have existed in Saint-Edmond-de-Grantham. The rain forced the municipality to cancel the second edition of its Carrefour Art et Délice, which was due to take place between 10am and 4pm today.
The rain in the morning and the ever-present threat of showers during the day led to several painters canceling their participation.
“The artists didn’t want their work and materials to be exposed to rain and moisture,” said Mayor Richard Kirouac. The organizing committee concluded that we could not afford to take the risk. It was a difficult decision. I don’t think it makes anyone happy; especially since everything was assembled on site.”
Just last night the organizing committee had no plans to change their plans due to the weather. He hoped that he would still be able to hold the crossroads.
An emergency meeting was held on Sunday morning and based on the information available, it was decided not to present the activity in 2023.
“Many people have asked if we could postpone the activity to next week, but the committee has decided to cancel it this year and resume in 2024. We hope that Mother Nature is on our side,” Mr. Kirouac added.
