Six people were injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles in front of the Valcartier military base north of Quebec City on Saturday night.
The collision occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday on the Route de la Bravoure, near the military base in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier. A single driver in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) left the road, drove in the opposite direction and caused his vehicle to collide with a car carrying five passengers.
According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.

Four people suffered minor injuries but were still transported to hospital. Another person suffered somewhat more serious injuries, while the person who caused the accident was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The SQ reiterated that there was nothing to fear for their lives.
According to reports, rescuers used rescue pliers to free the man who caused the accident, who was trapped in his vehicle for almost an hour.
A total of three ambulances were deployed at the scene of the accident.
The SQ investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of the event.
Traffic on the Route de la Bravoure was blocked throughout the night but resumed on Sunday morning.
