It was a tragic accident that happened on a microlight airstrip in Cambaie this Saturday afternoon. A microlight crashed with two people on board. The instructor has died, the student is in an absolute state of emergency.
The accident would have happened around 3 p.m. shortly after take-off at the end of the Cambaie runway. A nearby microlight instructor and doctor come and get the two men out of the machine, who are being swept away by the swell.
The SMUR, the fire brigade and the gendarmerie moved to the scene, but despite the rapid intervention of the rescue services, the pilot died in his fifties. Experienced, he had many flying hours under his belt.
