Over the weekend, in support of the gendarmerie companies, the motorcyclists of the EDSR carried out actions to combat road insecurity by targeting serious crimes that caused accidents on the main axes of the island.
On Saturday evening from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the gendarmes of the St-Pierre company, reinforced by the Saint-Louis motorized brigade, carried out an anti-crime operation in the town of St-Joseph. 18 offenses were identified, including 03 addictive behavior, 02 lack of driver’s license and refusal to work (detected).
On the east coast, in the same time slot, the St-Benoît company hired 19 people, including 4 Benedictine motorcyclists, for a river control operation on the outskirts of the Bras-Panon conurbation. 25 offenses were identified, including 04 blood alcohol levels, 05 driving under the influence of narcotics and 02 non-compliance (detected).
Red card: Wednesday, May 18, 2022, afternoon, motorcyclists of the St-Paul motorized brigade control a scooter driver (125 cm3) in the city center of the Saint-Paul agglomeration who cannot present a driver’s license or insurance for his vehicle. Upon review, the pilot appears to have been convicted 12 times since 2017 for lack of license and insurance. He was taken into police custody and presented for immediate appearance at St-Denis court on Thursday afternoon, where his past as a judge led him straight to The Box prison for a period of 10 months. His scooter, which was parked at the animal shelter, was confiscated by the judicial authorities.
