Saint-Zotique murder: SQ asks public for help in identifying victim

More than 48 hours after the murder of a young man whose body was found in a field in Saint-Zotique, Montérégie, police have still not been able to identify the victim and are now asking for the public’s help to get there.

The Sûreté du Québec has also published photos of the man’s tattoos, as well as a composite portrait of him, in the hope that someone, somewhere, will recognize him.

The victim is said to be between 18 and 30 years old, 1.93 meters tall and weighing 80 kilograms.

The young man has black curly hair and a dark complexion. He has the “Family” tattoos on the side of his right hand and the initials “SK” on the top of his left wrist.

When his body was discovered on the edge of 69th Avenue, he was wearing a red Puma hoodie, brown short-sleeved shirt, faded blue jeans, camouflage underwear and black sneakers.

It was a local farmer who found the victim’s body after being alerted by a passerby on Monday afternoon.

A resident of the area, whose home is equipped with surveillance cameras, said a suspicious vehicle was seen leaving the body in the farmland around 1:20 a.m. Sunday night.

According to our information, the victim showed clear signs of violence, especially on his face.

The authorities quickly found out that the young man had been murdered.

Anyone with information about this case or who recognizes the victim is asked to contact the Surete du Québec Crime Information Center at 1-800-659-4264.
