New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested Monday night in Kenner, Louisiana, on suspicion of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, according to a Kenner police spokesman.
Kenner police said Olave was driving 70 mph in a 30 mph zone on Joe Yenni Boulevard.
The Saints said they were aware of the situation but had no comment.
Olave, 23, was booked into Kenner Prison on Monday evening and was expected to be released once paperwork was processed, according to police.
The Saints did not practice Monday after being given the weekend off following a Thursday night game last week. However, the Saints continued to hold meetings and players were required to come to the facility in Kenner on Monday afternoon.
Olave leads the team with 39 catches for 471 yards and a touchdown in his second year with the Saints.
New Orleans plays at the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
