Salaar beats first weekend collections of Pathaan and Animal – IndiaTimes

Prabhas and Prashanth Neel's latest 'Salaar – Part 1 Truce' created a lot of buzz ahead of its release and the film has lived up to expectations. The film has everything in store for Prabhas fans, from action to drama to powerful dialogues etc. Released on December 22, the film had a long weekend of four days due to the Christmas holidays and was able to make the most of the festive season. According to Sacnilk: Currently, the total stands at Rs 251.60 crore (Friday: Rs 90.7 crore, Saturday: Rs 56.35 crore, Sunday: Rs 62.05 crore and Monday Rs 42.50 crore). However, one would think that the film has performed worse compared to Prashanth Neel's last films KGF and KGF 2. One must understand that the genre of both films is different so one can expect the same results.

But what Salaar has managed to do in these four days is that it has surpassed the four-day numbers of some of the biggest hits of the year like Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. While Pathaan, which released during the Republic Day weekend, managed to collect only Rs 220 crore, Animal, which released on December 1, had collected Rs 245.49 crore. But the film still falls well short of the biggest hit of the year, Jawan, which grossed more than Rs 286 crore in the first four days.
It is also worth noting that by the end of the week and if the trend continues, Salaar would have beaten Tiger 3's lifetime collection of Rs 283, it is just Rs 31 crore less.
