SALIVA guitarist Wayne Swinny dies at 59

Wayne SwinnyFounding member and guitarist of the band Saliva, died after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
A representative of the band tells us: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Saliva’s guitarist, Wayne Swinny. Wayne died this afternoon of a spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage while on tour.”
The tragic news comes just hours after the band announced Wayne was in intensive care following the medical emergency.
Bobby AmaruSaliva’s lead singer, says, “I’m not even sure what to think or feel. My heart aches for Wayne’s family, his friends and everyone who has had the joy of being around him. My heart aches for his daughter Nikki. He loved this little girl so much… He did everything to make sure you had a good time. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to share almost 12 years of my life with Wayne on stage and especially off stage.”
Amaru continues, “He was the older brother I never had. I learned so much from him and we had so much fun together! I will cherish all of this for the rest of my life! God bless you Wayne. I know we will see each other again!!”
As we reported… Wayne had been fights for his life in the intensive care unit. He was taken to a hospital on Tuesday and diagnosed with a spontaneous hemorrhage in his brain.
Wayne was one of the founding members of Saliva and helped found the band back in 1996.
The wife of Saliva’s former lead singer, Josey Scottalso wrote about Wayne’s death, saying the band was in “complete shock and heartbreak”.
She says Josey referred to Wayne as his “musical soulmate” and that she remembers him because he has a great sense of humor.
Wayne was 59.
