Alone: The quality didn’t feel right. Local website Gothamist called the restaurant “the worst in all of New York City”. The online magazine “Eater” judged that the store “Salt Bae’s” had “the charm of an airplane hangar”.
On the Internet, there are ratings of a mediocre 3.7 out of a possible five stars (Google) and a manageable three out of a possible five on TripAdvisor and Yelp.
Nusret Gökçe will likely be able to handle the closure financially. The trained butcher has over 20 restaurants worldwide. Thanks to a clever marketing strategy, the 39-year-old has not only managed to attract countless celebrities to his restaurants, he has also made it to the VIP.
