Salvador Valdés Mesa heads the Cuban delegation to the Brazilian Presidential Inauguration

Vice President of the Republic of Cuba Salvador Valdés Mesa arrived in Brasilia this Thursday to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

During his stay in Brasilia, the Cuban head of state will, among other things, hold meetings with local authorities and with representatives of political parties, social movements, business people and organizations supporting Cuba, the Cuban Foreign Ministry said.

The delegation includes Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal Ferreiro; the director for South America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carlos de Céspedes Piedra; and the charge d’affaires of Cuba in Brazil, Adolfo Curbelo Castellanos.

Lula will take over the presidency of Brazil on January 1, 2023.
