Jurassic Park star Sam Neill, 75, reveals he’s being treated for Stage III blood cancer in new book: ‘I’m a crook who may be dying’
Sam Neill has announced he is being treated for stage three blood cancer.
The Jurassic Park star announced the news in his forthcoming memoir, Did I Ever Told You That, in which he writes in the first chapter that he “may die.”
In an interview with The Guardian, the 75-year-old actor said: “The thing is, I’m a crook. Possibly dying.’
Adding: “I might have to speed this up. I found myself with nothing to do.
“And I’m used to working. i love working I like going to work. I love being with people every day and enjoying human company and friendship and all those things. And suddenly I was deprived of it. And I thought, ‘What should I do?’
Neill also told the BBC that he had “a wild type of aggressive” non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
He began writing his memoirs as a distraction and to “give me a reason to get through the day.”
The book will look back at the New Zealand actor’s 50-year on-screen career, as well as his sudden illness.
