Samoa Joe looks to be a breath of fresh air in All Elite Wrestling after winning the World Championship from MJF at Worlds End. With the new champion looking to return the focus to AEW's in-ring action, fans can expect more changes under Joe's leadership.
One of the first things to be revealed will be MJF's custom version of the AEW top title. Anyone who has been a fan of the Big Burberry Belt, also known as Triple B, can say goodbye to this belt.
“Oh, this is going in the trash,” Joe said at the Worlds End media scrum. “Do not worry about it. I mean, this garbage here, this little fake BS Gucci stuff he did is going to go away. We get the good belt, the right belt, something that is well designed.”
With a new championship belt or possible return to the previous design appearing to be coming soon, Samoa Joe is ready to give out a beating to all who come after him. As he prepares to elevate the title to his status, he says anyone is welcome to take it – anytime, anywhere.
“I’ll beat Executioner Adam Page’s ass any day of the damn week. Swerve (Strickland) can get it,” Joe said. “You know, a lot of loud mouths, a lot of guys talking a lot. Hey, you can all do that on Twitter. Come and throw that shit in my face, man, see what happens. That's the funny thing about it. Everyone starts a fight here, but no one ever starts a fight with me. Come and fight me.”
When it comes to adding variety and getting nasty in the ring, Samoa Joe has never backed down or been shy when facing the best in the world. Whether it's Kenta Kobashi in Ring of Honor, Kurt Angle in TNA or Brock Lesnar in WWE, Joe is a man who has proven he can both take and dish out punishment.
And those who wish to oppose him had better be prepared to give their best and then some.
“I'm going to be that champion when people say, 'Have you seen the AEW World Champion?', they're going to know they're talking about the most evil, dangerous man in this business,” Joe said.
