With so many devices and product lines, it’s no wonder giant Samsung’s events follow each other so quickly.
Today was the online event Unbox & Discover to showcase the new Neo 8K QLED TVs, soundbars and other accessories.
Right from the start, Samsung announced its ambitions, which the giant sums up as follows: screens anywhere, screens for all.
2022 Neo QLED 8K TV
The culmination of this great unboxing was the release of the Neo QLED 8K range of displays, upgraded with a new 8K Neural Quantum Processor. This processor features 20 independent artificial intelligence (AI) neural networks, each analyzing the characteristics of the video content and image quality for optimal viewing regardless of the source.
An example of image processing with this intelligent processor that scans the screen and maximizes the contrast with the background, emphasizing the main subject while leaving the background unprocessed. A process analogous to how the human eye perceives images in real life.
These TVs have received the first certification from Pantone, a global color authority and creator of the Pantone Matching System. Samsung is the only manufacturer to have received such certification.
Another notable detail, the screen’s refresh rate goes from 120 to 144 Hz to make action scenes and video games smoother.
Wireless Dolby Atmos sound
With the QN900B, a Neo QLED 8K flagship model, all sound comes from a 90W 6.2.4-channel audio system with Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro. This technology has also been applied to voice recognition with the Voice Tracking Sound feature.
Samsung is also rolling out Dolby Atmos wireless streaming for its 4K and 8K Neo QLED TVs, with no HDMI connection required. This wireless Dolby Atmos feature is also applied to Samsung’s new 2022 Ultra Slim Soundbar.
Battery-free remote control
The SolarCell remote also got an upgrade for 2022. It is 88% more efficient than previous 2020 models. They are now completely battery-free and can be recharged using 2.4GHz radio frequency energy from nearby Wi-Fi routers. That’s original and clever.
