Samuel Montembeault is leaving CH in Boston

The Montreal Canadiens suffered a tough 9-4 loss to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Saturday evening.

The Habs' chain went off the rails in the third period as the Bruins scored four unanswered goals in just over 10 minutes. During this difficult period, Danton Heinen completed his hat-trick, while Brad Marchand reached the 20-goal mark for the eleventh time in a row.

Samuel Montembeault had conceded Boston's first eight goals before being replaced by Cayden Primeau. The former made 22 saves. As for Primeau, he stopped five of the six shots thrown his way.

The first 15 minutes of the game started well for Martin St-Louis' men. Cole Caufield caused a stir for the fifth game in a row, scoring the first goal on the power play. Joel Armia also let his team take a 2-1 lead after a great pass from Joshua Roy.

Mike Matheson and Brendan Gallagher were also there for the visitors. Sean Monahan had three assists.

As for the local favorites, Brandon Carlo, Jake DeBrusk, Charlie Coyle, David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha also got the red light.

This loss is CH's seventh in a row in Boston. Additionally, Montreal has lost 12 of its last 13 games against the Boston club.

The Canadian hosts the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday at the Bell Centre. The last duel between the two teams on Thursday ended in a 6-2 victory for the members of the Ottawa club.
