People in San Francisco, Twitter’s hometown, told Fox News Digital that Elon Musk’s purchase of a large stake in the social media platform was “worrying,” while others said the Tesla co-founder has “never been wrong with his investments.” “.
“Elon only does things for a reason,” said a resident named Michael. “I don’t know if he was ever wrong.”
“He didn’t play flawlessly, but he was never entirely wrong,” he continued. “So I’d have to believe he had strong motivations or he wouldn’t have sunk a few billion dollars…of his net worth into Twitter.”

Lizzy, also from San Francisco, told Fox News Digital she believes Musk made the purchase because he was bragging about rights.
“It’s just another story about a super rich guy who feels entitled to buy companies or parts of the company,” she said.
Michael said he believes Musk’s influence on Twitter will depend on his relationship with his co-founder, Jack Dorsey.

TWITTER BOARD MEMBERS REACT TO ELON MUSK’S JOINING
“Elon, everything he touches has powerful effects,” Michael told Fox News Digital. “He’s going to create an opportunity for himself first, and then obviously… for others.”
Along with the news of the purchase, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal announced that Musk would join the company’s board of directors.
“I’m really excited to have Elon join the Twitter board!” Dorsey tweeted. “He cares deeply about our world and Twitter’s role in it.”

But another San Francisco resident, Gabriel, told Fox News Digital, “I think it’s worrying. He’s been very vocal on Twitter in general, so it’s nice that he owns 10% of one of the most popular social networks in the world from just caring about it all the time.”
Gabriel said despite his concerns, he still plans to use the platform.
“If I see that Twitter isn’t a place I’m comfortable with, then I can definitely see myself using it less,” he said, not changing that much.”
